All Key Stage 3 students are allocated one, one hour session per week of time-tabled Music lessons. Students then have the opportunity to participate in a number of out of hours enrichment opportunities.
Music at KEy Stage 4 is not compulsory though in the current year 10 with have 40 students and 22 in year 11 following the EDEXCEL GSCE MUSIC qualification (2 year course). The numbers show how the department has grown in popularity over the past two years. Students area allocated two lessons a week in year 10 and three when in year 11.
At Key Stage 5 the Music Department currently offers EDEXCEL GCE AS/A2 MUSIC and EDEXCEL GCE AS/A2 MUSIC TECHNOLOGY.
The accommodation within the Performing Arts Block comprises of two large Music Teaching Rooms, two Practice Rooms, Recording Studio, a Drama Teaching Room, a Drama Studio, a 250 seated theatre and a Sound and Lighting Booth.
