Prospective Parents Open Evening

Shelfield Sports and Community Colleges doors will be open on Thursday 18th September for the prospective parents and students to have a tour of the facilities. The evening starts at 6.30pm.

PRESS RELEASE

Students at Shelfield Sports and Community are celebrating outstanding GCSE results today. 78% of students achieved 5 A* to C grades, with 30% of students obtaining 5 A* to C including mathematics and English. 97% of students obtained a qualification in English and maths.

Several students achieved wonderful grades including:

• Stuart Antill with 15 As, including 11 A*s

• Charmaine Mckenzie with 12 As

• Calum Hayes and Katie Mills achieved 20 GCSE passes at C or above.

Headteacher, Bernard Dickenson, said, “These results are the best the College has achieved. The students, staff and parents deserve great credit for their commitment and determination to be successful. We are all delighted and very proud of these young people”.

• At GCSE the percentage of students obtaining 5 or more A* to C grades is: 78%

• The percentage of students obtaining 5 or more A* to C grades including English and mathematics is: 30%

• The total percentage of students obtaining a qualification in English and mathematics is: 97%

At ‘A’ level the College average points score increased to 242 points per student. This is equivalent to 3 Cs. The pass rate is 95%.

These results represent the best in the College’s history. Students, staff and parents deserve great credit.
