| Staff Reach The Summit! |
 |
On 24 and 25 June 2006, a team of 8 staff took part in the British Heart Foundation’s ‘3 Peaks Mountain Challenge’.
Over the 2 days the team had to travel between, and climb, Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowdon (Wales). Not only was the challenge physically demanding in itself, it also required 2 of the mountains to be climbed in one day. Saturday entailed climbing Ben Nevis at 7am, followed by the long journey to the Lake District. After setting up camp and having dinner, the team finally settled by midnight, only to have to get up at 3am! Sunday morning, for a 4am start up Scaffell Pike.
Down in time for breakfast, they then traveled to Wales to climb up Snowdon in the late afternoon. Reaching the peak of Snowdon led to doubled celebrations as Beckham scored just as the team reached the top a great end to a tough, but rewarding weekend for all involved! Big thanks must go out to Mrs Patch and Mr Franks who drove over 1100 miles between them, we couldn’t have done it without them!!! Well done to all involved!! |
